Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that emphasizes grappling and submission techniques. A BJJ practitioner controls his or her opponent by gaining a superior position; from which the fight can be finished with joint locks, chokes or strikes.

What to Expect In Class 

Each class begins with a warm up or drill. This will include a series of exercises, movements and jiu-jitsu drills designed to prepare your body for training and to increase fitness and coordination. Next the instructor will explain and demonstrate the featured techniques for that day. This would be your time to practice each move with a partner, as well as ask questions and receive individual help. Every class will devote the bulk of its time to sparring. This will give you a good opportunity to test out some of the techniques that are taught in class against a “resisting classmate”. 

Note: General physical conditioning (calisthenics, stretching, etc.) are not emphasized in class; rather a greater focus is placed on jiu-jitsu specific movements and techniques.

Monday – 6:30pm
Wednesday – 6:30pm
Friday – 6:30pm  

What to Wear/Bring to Class
A GI/T-Shirt or Board Short (no zippers/loose strings) 
Sparring: Mouthpiece Recommended
Plenty of Water for Breaks
